Problems caused by charging piles are becoming more and more frequent as the number of vehicles increases. But in daily life, do you know what types of charging piles there are? Below we will introduce to you the types of charging piles we commonly see.
1. Classification based on installation conditions, mainly divided into vertical charging piles and wall-mounted charging piles
Vertical charging piles do not need to be against the wall and are suitable for outdoor parking spaces or community parking spaces, while wall-mounted charging piles must be fixed on the wall and are suitable for indoor and underground parking spaces.
2. Classification based on service objects, mainly divided into public charging piles, dedicated charging piles and self-use charging piles
Public charging piles are purchased by government agencies and other public service institutions, and the service targets any electric vehicle owners, such as public parking lots.
Special charging piles are mostly built by companies and serve customers and internal personnel, such as shopping mall parking lots.
Self-use charging piles are private charging piles, installed in private areas and not open to the public.
3. Classification based on the protection level of the installation site, mainly divided into indoor charging piles and outdoor charging piles
The protection level of indoor charging piles needs to be at least IP32 or above, while outdoor charging piles need to face the harsh environment of wind and rain and require better insulation and lightning protection conditions. The protection level must reach at least IP54 to ensure personal safety, vehicle body safety and Charging equipment is safe.
(IP is the international code used to identify protection levels. The IP level consists of two numbers. The first number indicates dustproof; the second number indicates waterproof. The larger the number, the better the protection level.)
4. Classification based on the number of charging interfaces, mainly divided into one charge for one charge and multiple charges for one charge
Currently, the charging piles on the market are mainly one-charge, one-charge type. In large parking lots such as bus parking lots, multi-charge charging piles are needed to support the charging of multiple electric vehicles simultaneously, which not only speeds up charging efficiency, but also saves labor.
5. Classification based on charging type, mainly divided into AC charging piles and DC charging piles
AC charging piles generally have low current, small pile body, flexible installation, and a full charge generally takes 6-8 hours. They are suitable for small passenger electric vehicles. They are mostly used in public parking lots, large shopping malls and community garages, and for home use. Charging piles are also mostly AC charging piles. DC charging piles generally have high current, larger charging capacity in a short period of time, larger pile bodies, and occupy a large area (heat dissipation). DC charging piles are suitable for fast DC charging of electric buses, minibuses, hybrid buses, electric cars, taxis, engineering vehicles, etc.
